6 Insight – England and Wales This course is aimed at staff who are relatively new to pensions and those who have some experience, but want a better understanding of the LGPS. The training material is detailed due to the complex nature of the LGPS. One of the intended outcomes is for delegates to understand all aspects of administering the Scheme. When delivered online, this five day course will start at 9:30 each day with sessions ending between 12:00 – 13:30. As an in person residential course the cost includes overnight accommodation and meals. The course runs from 6pm Monday night until 1pm Thursday. View training

21 Employer Role Training The employer role workshop is aimed at employers offering the LGPS in England and Wales. You do not need a working knowledge of the LGPS to attend the course; however, some LGPS experience is preferable. It is a one-day workshop that is currently being offered virtually using Microsoft Teams, and in person (London). It is also possible to commission a training course to be delivered at your own premises. For more information on commissioning a course please email training.lgps@local.gov.uk The training is delivered by an experienced tutor with a maximum of 18 attendees, to allow enough opportunity to engage with the tutor and other attendees. Cost is £270 (plus VAT) per person for online training and £310 (plus VAT) per person for in person training. 22 Survivor benefits – England and Wales This workshop is aimed at Administering Authority staff in England and Wales who deal with, or need to learn about Survivor benefits. It is unlikely that scheme employer staff would benefit by attending- It would be useful if attendees had some experience working in the administration of the LGPS. View training

23 Understanding Transfers Out This course is aimed at administering authority staff in England and Wales who deal with, or need to learn about Club and non-Club transfers out of the LGPS. Some experience of administering the LGPS is desirable, especially the calculation of member benefits in both the Final Salary and CARE Scheme. The course is based on the scheme rules for the LGPS in England and Wales. It is not suitable for Scottish administering authorities. It is not likely to be of interest to Scheme employers. The course includes the changes introduced by the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Conditions for Transfers) Regulations 2021 and McCloud Underpin Protections. View training

25 Retirements – Intermediate This training is aimed at pension administration staff in England and Wales. Some experience of administering the LGPS is desirable. View training
